My Journey to a Remote Village

When I first got my government job in 2014, I never imagined that my first posting would be in such a remote village. The place was beautiful but extremely difficult to reach. During the rainy season, vehicles could not travel on the muddy roads, and we had to walk nearly 15 kilometers carrying our luggage on foot. At that time, I felt exhausted and frustrated. However, looking back now, I realize that those tough experiences shaped me into a stronger person. Living in such challenging conditions taught me patience, resilience, and gratitude for small comforts in life. After some years, I was transferred to a city posting. Life became much easier—better roads, electricity, internet, and healthcare facilities. Yet, I found that I complained less than many others around me. That remote village experience gave me a different perspective on life. Today, I believe that being posted in a difficult area at the beginning of one’s career is actually a blessing in disguise.
